Hee-Kyung Park graduated from the Department of Chemistry Education at Korea National University of Education and worked as a secondary school science teacher. She earned her Master's degree at Korea National University of Education with a thesis on the writing tendencies of middle school gifted students in experimental settings. Currently, she teaches and conducts research in the Department of Science Education at Jeonbuk National University. Recently, she has been involved in research review and the development of instructional guides for the high school elective subject History of Science in the 2015 science curriculum, continuing her teaching and research on the history of science in secondary education. Her research focuses particularly on the interactions between science and education since the 19th century.
